Tablets, film coated – 1 tab .:
- Active substances: melatonin 3 mg;
- Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose – 48.5 mg, sodium carboxymethyl starch – 6.5 mg, calcium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate – 41 mg, magnesium stearate -1 mg;
- The composition of the shell: hypromellose – 1.53 mg, polysorbate 80 (twin 80) – 0.64 mg, talc – 0.51 mg, titanium dioxide (E171) – 0.32 mg.

Description of the dosage form
Tablets, film coated white or almost white, round, biconvex, with a risk on one side; in cross-section, the core of the tablet is white or almost white.
Dosage and administration
In case of sleep disturbance – 3 mg 1 time / day for 30-40 minutes before sleep.
With desynchronosis as an adaptogen when changing time zones – 1 day before the flight and for the next 2-5 days – 3 mg 30-40 minutes before sleep.
The maximum daily dose is 6 mg.
Elderly patients: Melatonin metabolism decreases with age, which must be considered when choosing a dosing regimen for elderly patients. With this in mind, in elderly patients, it is possible to take the drug 60-90 minutes before sleep.
Renal failure: The effect of varying degrees of renal failure on melatonin pharmacokinetics has not been studied, so melatonin should be used with caution in these patients. For patients with severe renal insufficiency, the use of the drug is contraindicated.
Synthetic analogue of the pineal gland hormone (pineal gland); has an adaptogenic, sedative, hypnotic effect. Normalizes circadian rhythms. The drug is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
During the period of use of the drug Melatonin-SZ, it is recommended to avoid exposure to bright light.
It is necessary to inform women who want to become pregnant about the presence of a weak contraceptive effect.
There are no clinical data on the use of melatonin in patients with autoimmune diseases, and therefore, the use of this category of patients is contraindicated.
Influence on ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms
The drug Melatonin-SZ causes drowsiness, in connection with this, during the period of treatment one should refrain from driving vehicles and practicing potentially hazardous activities that require an increased concentration of attention and quickness of psychomotor reactions.
Symptoms: According to available literature data, the use of melatonin in a daily dose of up to 300 mg did not cause clinically significant adverse reactions. Hyperemia, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, headache and scotoma were observed with the use of melatonin in doses of 3000-6600 mg for several weeks. With the use of very high doses of melatonin (up to 1 g), involuntary loss of consciousness was observed.
Overdose may cause drowsiness.
Treatment: gastric lavage and the use of activated carbon, symptomatic therapy.
Removal of the active substance is expected within 12 hours after ingestion.
